Heart Children Awareness Week was held from 22nd - 29th May 2005. During Awareness Week, Heart Children New Zealand members and parents, along with staff from Bank of New Zealand, co-ordinated a variety of awareness and fundraising activities.
In 2004, Heart Children Awareness Week was successful in raising over $500,000, and we hope to have raised a similar amount this year.
Monies raised during Heart Children Awareness Week will go towards establishing a Research Fellowship in the Paediatric Cardiology Department at Starship Hospital.
The aim of the Fellowship is to undertake research into the cause and treatment of life threatening heart problems in children in New Zealand.
