Heart Children NZ relies significantly on its branches and support groups throughout New Zealand, to provide the much needed support and services to families in the local community.
As these groups are run by volunteer committee members - themselves, parents and care-givers of children with heart conditions - it is important that the organisation provides practical support and training to our volunteers.
Once a year, Heart Children NZ calls for representatives from every branch and support group to come together to attend our Branch Seminar.
The purpose of the seminar is to provide workshops, discussions and training sessions specific to the committee volunteers of Heart Children NZ.
A stronger Heart Children NZ means a stronger community.

Heart Children New Zealand's annual branch seminar is specifically for those members actively involved in running local Heart Children NZ branches or support groups—all volunteers just like you!

Who should attend
In keeping with the changes made at recent highly successful seminars, the following points should be noted:

Heart Children NZ Inc will fully fund the Family Support Worker as well as one representative from every branch/support group to attend the branch seminar, providing registrations are received by the cutoff date specified each year. Late registrations will be considered, however, for these, all costs will need to be met by the branch.

We actively encourage additional representatives from your branch to attend the seminar, however, this cost will need to be met by your group. Payment of registration fees for additional representatives is not required at the time of completing registration. Heart Children NZ Inc will invoice the branch for this cost, with payment required no later than a specified payment deadline.

Heart Children NZ Inc will meet the cost for Regional Board Representatives to attend the seminar – this is over and above the representatives mentioned above.

The seminar programme will be split into two parts, one specifically designed as training for our Family Support Workers, the second for other committee members. This second session will be split into two sections for parts of the meeting on Saturday to enable us to cover as many issues as possible, as identified in the feedback from last year.

We ask that each branch/support group complete the registration for the representatives they wish to send to the branch seminar. The form allows for four representatives to be registered, but you are welcome to send more than this by attaching and completing a second registration form.
