Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club

Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club are long-time supporters of Heart Children NZ. Past years have included successful and popular Cricket Weeks held in February, featuring interclub matcjhes, a celebrity match and an evening gala dinner.

This year Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club were back again in 2009 with something totally different: a fast, fun and unique form of entertainment:

The First Ever ICE CRICKET Match
in New Zealand

Held at Botany's Paradice Ice Rink, on Sunday 24 May 2009, this was Cricket on Ice! The match featured big stars of the past and present of New Zealand cricket:

This event - held for the first time in the southern hemisphere - helped Heart Children New Zealand kick of its Heart Kids Week 2009.

Pre-match entertainment included ice dancers. Half-time featured a Speed Chase Celebrity Challenge race around the ice rink. The match was followed by gala dinner and charity auction, raising nearly $20,000 for Heart Children. A big thanks to everyone who was there and gave so generously.
