On Your Marks For Little Hearts is a fun run for pre-school aged children. It provides the opportunity for you to introduce with your pre-schoolers the importance of exercise, healthy eating and also the importance of supporting other people in your community.
The On Your Marks For Little Hearts pack includes information on how to coordinate a fun run, sample letters for your children to take home to their parents, class notes, posters, information on Heart Children NZ, stickers for participating and will be posted out in April. All children that participate are requested to bring a gold coin donation for Heart Children NZ. You can register your interest today by emailing liz@heartchildren.org.nz.
You can host your On Your Marks For Little Hearts at any time during the year, however we encourage you to participate during the last week of May in conjunction with Heart Children Awareness Week. If hosting an On Your Marks For Little Hearts is not quite what you would like to do to support Heart Children NZ you could also host a Go Blue Day – often when children are born with a heart condition they turn a grayish blue.
Every week 12 babies are born with a heart defect in New Zealand. That is 600
every year. Heart Children New Zealand is the only organisation dedicated to supporting Kiwi kids with heart disease and their families.
Register your pre-school today for On Your Marks For Little Hearts and together we can keep on making a difference.
